NSPS Day on the Hill
Time & Location
April 23, 2024
Washington, DC, USA
About The Event
Each year NSPS engages in “citizen lobbying” on behalf of the surveying profession. The society’s efforts help raise the profile of the surveying profession in Congress, as well as educate Congressmen and Senators on legislation that will improve the quality of life of all Americans and serve the public health, safety, and welfare. Past NSPS efforts have proven to be very effective. The enactment of the Digital Coast Act, the National Landslide Preparedness Act, a provision in the Senate’s highway bill, and other legislation supported and impacted by NSPS provide evidence of the success of the society’s efforts.
Advocating for these three relevant issues crucial to the profession on Tuesday, April 23 during the NSPS Day on the Hill is a critical step each NSPS member is encouraged to take to make sure the surveying profession’s priorities and voice are heard loud and clear by Members of Congress, Senators, and their highly important staff. Most Hill meetings include these vital and knowledgeable staffers who advise their offices and Congressional hierarchy following these key meetings with constituents and stakeholders. Congress is currently scheduled to be in recess that week of April 23rd.
To participate, please register below. Please note: you may live and work in different Congressional districts, so please provide address information for both your home and office for meetings with both representatives, if applicable.
Training Webinar: NSPS will host a training webinar before your meetings to ensure each attendee feels comfortable discussing policy talking points. All NSPS Day on the Hill registrants will receive a link to access the live training webinar one day before the dates below:
